Why the hell do we call it the CrabRAIL? Have a look at the CAD cross-sectional analysis (2nd pic) and tell me it doesn't look like a crab. I dare you.
Ok, but what's a CrabRAIL? Well, there are a lot of fantastic rackless soft luggage options (Mosko and Tusk come to mind) for those of us who like to ride tough off road stuff and need the compactness and durability they provide. Because they're built to be universal, some bikes make it difficult to strap them to the bikes well.
The CrabRAIL allows you to eliminate the bulky and heavy factory rack and replace it with this compact, robust attachment point. The clamping plate has integral spacers that allow for a rugged metal to metal connection between it and the rail while robustly clamping the luggage. It takes 30 seconds to pull off with your SingleTRAK, which of course is always in your pocket.
Made from 7075 T651 aluminum, not because the strength is required, it's so the threads will last a lifetime. Grade 10.9 coated alloy bolts are included, not the butter bolts you often get with import parts. Also, in our opinion, they're superior to stainless as you don't have the galling issues. Speaking of that, these puppies are designed, Engineered and made with pride in Calgary, Canada by us right in our shop.
Fits the rear rack mounts on KTM 790, 890, 1090, 1190 and 1290 from 2013 to recent.
